Why Is KSR considered to be a UNESCO Heritage?

The Kalka Shimla Rail route or KSR was awarded by UNESCO as a world’s heritage list on 10th July 2008. This railway line is to promote the sustainable development of heritage, community, environment, tourism and infrastructure. The construction of this train began in 1898 during the British era and was completed in 1903. This train began operations in 1903.
